    In a recent post to the Health Affairs blog, five U.S. Senators expressed their dissatisfaction with the results achieved through the passage of the Health Information Technology and Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act. Though not an indictment on the use of health information technology (HIT) in general, their blog post titled “Where Is HITECH’s $35 Billion Dollar Investment Going?” states that there is “inconclusive evidence that the program has achieved its goals of increasing efficiency, reducing costs, and improving the quality of care.”
